Promotional Products: General Info & Guidelines

Set up fees vs. Art Set up
Many of our promotional items have what is called a "Set up Fee" or an Imprint Fee. This is the cost for us to print your logo on the blank product. It does not include sizing or designing your artwork to fit that product. Our guidelines for general art set up are below. If you need help with this, there may be a design fee as this can take some time, depending on the files that are provided to us

General Art Set up Guidelines
All of our items have a set imprint area where your logo or promotional slogan can be printed. This is usually non-negotioable, as the surface has to be the right size and smoothness for the pad printer or screen printer to hit it properly.

Please set up your artwork according to the stated imprint area and keep the following in mind:

  • All text should be no less than 8pt in size in order for it to be readable

  • Detailed logos and small registration marks may not print clearly

  • Send us your high resolution art in either the exact colors you want it printed, or in any one color if you opt for a one-color print (we will convert)

  • All art should be in outlines and in vector format. If you are not sure what this is, your designer will. Unless we are printing full color, we cannot imprint on your item using a .jpg file.

  • Virtual proofs are usually available at no charge - just ask!

Tips & Tricks for the best printed item

  • Shorten web addresses by taking off the "www" (it will give you a larger web address)

  • Leave off phone numbers, addresses, etc if your web address will provide that information

  • High contrast, like a white imprint on a dark item, will look the best

Proofs, Errors & Misprints
We guarantee ALL of our products to be what you expected or better. If you are not sure whether the product you chose is the right one for you, we can order you a sample (some charges may apply). If your product is delivered with a misprint (i.e. the imprint DOES NOT match the proof that you approved), please contact us within 5 business days so that we may remedy the problem.

Over/Under
If you see the words "over/under" on your order, it means that we print an overage of that item to allow for any misprints that may occur. For instance, if you order 100 pieces of an item, and we have an over/under of 10%, this means we will print 110 pieces and weed out any misprints, if they occur. Your shipment (and the items that you will be charged for) could be 110 pieces, 100 pieces or 90 pieces, depending on the success of the process. We do this to try to be sure to send you as close to the amount that you ordered. If you absolutely must have those 100 pieces, please let us know and we will guarantee it.

Imprint Colors
Standard Colors: Most of our items come with a chart of standard imprint colors that you may choose from. It varys from item to item, so please call us for more information
Pantone (PMS) Matching & Fees: If your company's brand colors are not one of our standard, and you wish to match them exactly, there may be a fee associated with this.

Imprint Locations & Number of Colors
Most items include a one color imprint on one location of a product. A "location" is usually one side of the pen barrel, or mug or luggage tag, for example. Your price most likely includes a one color imprint on that one side (sometimes there is a stated set-up or imprint fee associated with that). The second location, or side, may involve an additional set up (imprint) fee and a per piece run charge.

If you are printing in only one location, but would like more than one color, first check that this is available on that item. If so, there will most likely be an additional set up and/or run charge for that additional color or colors. Please call us for the most accurate quote in these cases.

Packaging & Delivery
Packaging: Many of our items are available in polybagging or gift packaging upon request. Please be sure to ask us about these options.

Delivery: We ship most orders either UPS or Fed Ex, depending on the speed and the location. Many of our orders can be produced in our west coat facility, please keep this in mind when planning for your event. Ground shipping from the west coast to the east coast can be up to 5 business days.

Special Handling: Some of our items, such as mugs, require special handling and packaging to ensure that they arrive to you in perfect condition.
